Design for Independence (Ageing in Place)

Design for Independence (Aging in Place)

True luxury is the ability to stay in the home you love, surrounded by the memories you’ve built. I specialize in 'Invisible Design'—integrating critical safety and accessibility features like zero-threshold entries and ergonomic kitchen layouts so seamlessly that they enhance, rather than compromise, your home’s aesthetic. My goal is to create a sophisticated sanctuary that supports your independence for a lifetime.

Simplify Your Lifestyle (Rightsizing and Downsizing)

Transitioning to a new home is more than a move; it’s an opportunity to curate your legacy. I provide expert spatial planning to ensure your most cherished pieces fit perfectly into a more manageable footprint. From floor plan optimization to decluttering guidance, I manage the technical and emotional complexities of downsizing, turning a smaller space into a more intentional, high-functioning home.

Curated Transitions (The Strategic Relocation Plan)

Moving to a new chapter shouldn't mean losing your sense of home. Curated Transitions is a high-level consulting service designed to take the guesswork out of downsizing. I don’t pack boxes; I provide the strategic roadmap and professional curation you need to move with confidence. By evaluating your lifestyle and your new floor plan, I help you decide what to keep, what to let go of, and how to make your next home your best home.

Collaborating with a designer who has a General Contractor’s background means your project is handled with technical precision from day one. Here is my three-step approach:

We listen to your wants and needs and plan your new right sized home.

The Discovery Consultation

We begin with an on-site or virtual meeting to discuss your goals, safety needs, and aesthetic preferences. I’ll perform a high-level assessment of your space to identify opportunities for "Invisible Design" and structural efficiency.

  • Goal: Define the scope and ensure our visions align.

We work with contractors to create a blueprint of any changes to your home that works with your lifestyle.

The Technical Design Phase

This is where my background as contractor, CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) and interior design shines. I develop detailed floor plans and material specifications that aren't just beautiful—they are buildable. We’ll review layouts that prioritize your long-term independence without sacrificing style.

  • Goal: A comprehensive design blueprint ready for execution.

Execution and Advocacy

I don’t just hand over a drawing and leave. I can act as your advocate during the construction phase, communicating directly with your builders to ensure the technical details of the design are met. I speak their language, so you don’t have to.

  • Goal: A seamless transition from paper to a finished, high-functioning home.

"Every project is unique. Following our initial Discovery Consultation, I provide a customized proposal based on the complexity and scale of your needs. My fee structure is designed to provide maximum value, whether you require a one-time safety audit or full-scale project management."
